Peripeteia

The inspiration behind Peripeteia lies in those pivotal moments when the ground suddenly shifts—when life can no longer continue as it has.

The title Peripeteia refers to a sudden reversal of circumstances, a turning point where familiar patterns collapse and transformation becomes inevitable.

This piece is a smaller, slightly modified version of the life-size resin sculpture Red Star. In both versions, the figure holds a mask in the left hand, symbolizing the unmasking of self-delusion.

The first edition features a tall base made from a rare piece of “Nero e Oro” (Black and Gold) marble sourced from Portovenere, Italy (see images). The remaining three editions will be presented on a lower base made from a different type of marble.
