Forever a Student of Life. The model for this portrait is Michael, a painting student who returns to Florence every year to continue learning the craft from teachers at The Florence Academy of Art and beyond. I met him during Friday evening drinks in the academy's courtyard and immediately saw the potential for a great portrait. He was obliging and sat for me for a few sessions and the result resembled an Ancient Greek philosopher, which turns out Michael had studied in university, thus the title.

I was honoured to have 'The Philosopher' chosen by Editor in Chief Peter Trippi for the front cover for the June 2024 issue of prestigious international magazine Fine Art Connoisseur, which also featured me in an interview for their '3 To Watch' upcoming artist section.
