Marble carving pointed traditionally from a classical plaster model.

Not for sale

Whilst I was studying sculpture at The Florence Academy of Art in 2015 I spent the weekends over one term during my second year learning how to carve marble in the traditional โ€˜pointingโ€™ method under the guidance of master stone carver Jason Arkles.

Jason offered several academic plaster casts to copy and I chose the small female torso to make a copy of.

Jason is a great teacher and sculptor โ€“ and I advise you not to miss his unique and informative podcast 'The Sculptors Funeral' which youโ€™ll find on his homepage (see links below).

Year sculpted: 2015.

Dimensions (H x W): 30cm x 16cm. Actual size may vary, especially depending on the base.
