Created over four days during a workshop with Polish sculptor Grzegorz Gwiazda at Mapstone Studio in Devon, UK, this piece captures a moment of inspiration. The pose was chosen during a break when model Isaura hugged a large coat close to her body. As the coat and the model’s dark skin tone merged, I envisioned them becoming one, with a large crevasse opening up to her innermost Self.

"Being" was featured in the remarkable Corpo a Corpo exhibition at Villa Bardini, Florence, in 2019. Curated by Daniela Astone and Gaia Grazioli, the exhibition showcased the works of 35 international representational artists and was a resounding success, with visitor numbers exceeding expectations. "Being" was also exhibited as a finalist in the international Figurativas '19 show at MEAM in Barcelona.
