In August 2015, I had the distinct privilege of producing a bust of Australian actor Geoffrey Rush, who subsequently commissioned a bronze casting for his private collection.

The portrait of Geoffrey Rush was named joint winner of the inaugural Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture in 2016.

The bust was created over four separate sittings in the relaxed environment of Geoffrey's home in Melbourne. The first edition was cast in bronze, with a patina, at Coates Studio Foundry by Ewan Coates. At that time, Geoffrey had just agreed to play the role of Giacometti in the now-released film "Final Portrait," directed by Stanley Tucci. Sitting for me provided Geoffrey with a unique insight into the work of a sculptor, which became part of his research for portraying Giacometti in "Final Portrait." You can hear him discuss the film and his experience in an interview on 'The Conversation' on ABC Radio with Jon Faine (see link).

Ordering this bust in marble is possible but the price will be higher than the bronze price quoted here. Please enquire for further details.
