The model for this portrait was Francesca, a woman from Naples, Italy. She possesses a proud, striking beauty—one that carries a sharp, almost unforgiving clarity, as if her gaze could pierce through any falsehood.

Her shaved head inspired me to invent a head dress and the idea of Nefertiti and her famous crown came to me, it seemed to suit the aloofness and power of Francesca´s demeanour.
