The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

As a Modeller in the Props Department, my primary task involved polycarving.

After I carved the items, the Props Scenic artists sealed and painted them before they were placed on set. Although I didn’t work on the production long enough to receive a credit, I did appear in the behind-the-scenes documentary on Netflix – see video below.

One of my most notable carvings was the arms and claws gripping the Dark Crystal, that you see in pictures.

I also assisted Matt Rowe in carving a chandelier, which included the parts I was filmed carving in the documentary.

For Episode 7, I worked on several background props, including a wooden table, a wooden tripod, a metal cauldron, a stone oven structure with a chimney, an anvil on a table to the left, and a day bed.

The Dark Crystal TV series was released Dec 2019.
