The model for this portrait was Francesca, a woman from Napoli. She has a very proud and astounding beauty, her gaze cutting through any untruths. Her shaved head inspired me to invent a head dress and the idea of Nefertiti and her famous crown came to me, it seemed to suit the aloofness and power of Francesca´s demeanour.

Sculptures are generally cast in bronze in a limited number of editions. The maximum number of editions allowed varies between countries but is very rarely more than ten. Editions are signed by the artist and has the edition number cast in the bronze. They always come with a Certificate of Authenticity, they last for millennia and represents a good investment.
An Artist Proof (AP) is signed by the artist, but is not part of an edition and does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Artists are allowed three APs. Traditionally an Artist Proof is made in plaster, but in recent decades resin has taken over. Whether in plaster or resin, an Artist Proof should not be considered a financial investment as it holds little to no resale value.
