The title ‘Peripeteia’ refers to a sudden turn of events, a reversal of circumstances, a moment where the ground shifts beneath one’s feet and things can no longer continue as they have been.
This is different version of the life size resin ‘Red Star’ sculpture. Both versions have the mask in the left hand which signifies the unmasking of self-delusion.
The high marble base seen in the pictures is made from a unique piece of “Nero e Oro” (Black and Gold) marble from Portovenere, Italy. This base is unique to the first edition. Subsequent editions will feature a lower black marble base.

Sculptures are generally cast in bronze in a limited number of editions. The maximum number of editions allowed varies between countries but is very rarely more than ten. Editions are signed by the artist and has the edition number cast in the bronze. They always come with a Certificate of Authenticity, they last for millennia and represents a good investment.
An Artist Proof (AP) is signed by the artist, but is not part of an edition and does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Artists are allowed three APs. Traditionally an Artist Proof is made in plaster, but in recent decades resin has taken over. Whether in plaster or resin, an Artist Proof should not be considered a financial investment as it holds little to no resale value.
