Medusa
Medusa is loosely based on the Medusa myth.
This portrait speaks to a moment of alchemical transformation, a moment of resolve, determination and hardening. In the greek myth Medusa was murdered but even her severed head had the power to turn anyone who looked upon it into stone.
The impact of this sculpture becomes obvious when the viewer meets the portraits gaze with his or her own eyes, and because the portrait is looking down, the placement should be high enough to facilitate this.
